Where I came from
Mohammed Shamuz Miah was born in 1931 in Sumanganj, part of the Sylhet region of what is now Bangladesh, when Bengal was under British rule. He has therefore lived through the changing of Bengal from India to East Pakistan and then to Bangladesh. He now lives in Burnley in Lancashire, north-east England.
